WEIGHTLOSS AND SCIATIC PAIN FREE MOVEMENT GAINS AT 48 from HBS practitioner @fp_mark_gresham
Here are results after 9 months of @functionalpatterns Patterns on my 48yo father. I'm very lucky to have the parents I have. Dad is one of the hardest working people I've ever met. Working 14hr+ days 365 days/year for most of his life on the farm left his body pretty beat. Mix that in with throughout his teens and 20s competing at a high level of Olympic weightlifting and you are left with a pretty degenerated body.
In the before video dad is suffering from sciatic pain and lower back pain. After 9 months of training the second video he's moving pain free, he is coiling his body like never before and lost 10kgs. Turning beef jerky into tissues with elastic recoil. It's motivating to see that at 48, Dad's redirected his time and effort into becoming a better mover. Are we finished? Not even close. So much work to go, but great progress so far!

Rudi’s testimonial: “Shortly before I started FP, I had been through some health complications, such as spontaneous pneumothorax, femoral head fracture and retinal tear on my right eye, because of which I had to undergo a surgery. After the last one, I was told by the doctors that I should never load my body physically anymore. However, I knew how important it was for my body to move, in order to maintain its tension and not to become atrophied. I refused to stay stuck at home doing nothing, so I gave a try to FP which I heard about from my friend. Since I started doing FP, my physical condition has improved drammatically. My movement coordination and overall balance have improved greatly and my running mechanics is hardly comparable to my previous running attempts. In order to progress, the only one who we have to deal with, is ourselves, which is for many people the most difficult thing to do.”
Rudi is one of my hardest working clients, who has never missed a single session since we began training. It took us 7 months of training FP corrective and dynamic exercises before Rudi was able to run without holding to any support. After that point, we were able to work on building gait mechanics. Rudi’s attitude towards the training process has been extremely disciplined, since he has never missed a single week of training (except Covid lockdown period) since his first session.

Everything has improved for me. Here is some progress from my client using functional patterns. He suffered a disk injury after 20 years of compensation from a previous back injury. . This was a very humbling and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to help and learn more about biomechanics. . A couple of key takeaways. 1. Injury prevention is a much easier route than rehabilitation. 2. Consistent stress will be needed even after you are out of pain.

We’ve managed to decrease Cobb angle from 28 to 24 degrees and also increase volume capacity in ribcage (especially left side).
This is Alena’s testimonial: “I was diagnosed with AIS (adolescent idiophatic scoliosis) in my 13. I went through whole process of treatment, rehabilitation, a lot of different exercising methods, plastic brace included, until I reached 18. WATCH TILL THE END. We are now running! Since my last post on my client Mike’s gait, we have been putting in consistent work. In the first video Mike struggled a lot with just walking. He was in constant pain and his body jarred in every step. The second video he has much improved stability and a large reduction in his overall daily pain. •
Now Mike is able to not only walk without pain, he can now run. Something he has been unable to do in a decade. After hip replacements and knee surgeries, his doctors said he would never run again. Now look where we are. All training done here with @functionalpatterns techniques
