In this article we'll walk you through each of our available online courses. If you are just beginning your FP journey, don't worry we've got you covered! We'll be outlining the recommended order to take so you can get the most out of your training, and help get you closer to achieving your goals.
The 10-Week Online Course
The 10-Week Online Course was designed specifically as an introduction to the Functional Patterns methodology. The main focus of this course is to alleviate common postural distortions found in people using corrective exercise by giving you the tools you’ll need to establish a functional baseline for your body to move from. By establishing a strong foundation, you will be in the optimal position to start taking on the more advanced movements and workouts in our other courses.
With 99 instructional videos, nearly 50 techniques, and 12 hours of video content, this course takes you through three phases of training for an easy-to-follow step by step program that you can access anywhere. and even complete from the comfort of your own home. We break down complicated material into digestible bits that anyone, starting from any level of fitness, can easily learn from and enjoy. This is where it all starts!
The Functional Training System
The Functional Training System (FTS) is the next step we would suggest in your progression towards integrating the Functional Patterns method into your training regiment. With 7+ hours of footage containing 5 difficulty levels, we take a comprehensive approach to getting you the results you want, minus the pains you are looking to avoid.
Each stage shouldn't be taken lightly. By reaching the highest level of proficiency with these techniques, you'll not only be moving with an enormous amount of athleticism, but your body will be more inclined towards resembling the builds of those humans with athletic physical structures.
We'll show you how to go about it intelligently, using your own intuition about your body, and cement the foundations demonstrated here at every level. You can grow at your own pace, and really pin down techniques that will set you up for success in the later stages of the Functional Training System, and beyond. Want to jump straight to the FTS? You can do that too! We’ve made this course in such a way that it can be a stand-alone product to start your FP training, if you feel your posture is already on point, and you want to go straight into doing the movements.
The Parabar Workout
We suggest this workout as an add-on to your purchase of the Parabar because let's face it: nothing feels more raw than the taxing sensation of a hard lift day. But the reality is you don't need massive, joint-compressing amounts of weight in order to get all the benefits that truly functional resistance training has to offer. By embodying the principles of the previous courses, you can make big muscle gains without all of the dysfunctions that tend to come along with traditional resistance training.
At FP, our concern is around the quality of the technique that lifted the weight as opposed to the quantity of weight being lifted. Think of it like this: whenever we maximize the benefits of an exercise, and minimize the damages, we experience a higher net-positive over time than situations containing poorer cost-benefit tradeoffs. Humans should be training like humans, and the lifts you do should facilitate a net-positive towards better human function if your ultimate goal is to improve your quality of life.
That's exactly what The Parabar Workout is meant to do: to start the process of tying together the structural, movement, and hypertrophic elements of training like a human (and with more courses and products to come in the not too distant future!)
