PHASE 1 : TISSUE PLASTICITY TECHNIQUES
3 weeks
Phase 1 has been broken down into 3 weeks. The aim of Phase 1 is to guide you through some of the most important Myofascial Release techniques that we employ. We will explain the types of postural dysfunctions that are commonly found on our bodies and which specific techniques to use to help overcome these dysfunctions.
Phase 2 : Posture Training
Duration: 1 week
Our focus here is developing robust spinal integrity and decompression. In modern times our spinal integrity is usually the first to go, every day life smashes and weakens the spine. This phase teaches you how to lengthen and strengthen it, in a way you have to feel to understand the difference. This isn't just about gaining control of your spine and the muscles around it, but establishing the fundamental pillars of posture that pave the way to a pain free life
Phase 3 : Integrated corrective exercise
Duration: 6 weeks
Here we build on posture training by moving your spine and building strength at the same time. This is where we cement a balance of strength and mobility in your body, ensuring joints can both glide and stay stable. Here you will begin to understand what being strong AND mobile means. All other approaches do one or the other. Completing Phase 3 will give you an entirely new kind of body control you didn’t think you would have, tapping into primal human power that we recently lost.

What equipment will I need for the 10-week online program?

Our online programs were designed so that you can grab a few simple tools and get to training wherever you go. The 10-week online program can be done with the following tools:

• 3 inch MFR ball, or Lacrosse ball or tennis ball
• 5 inch MFR Ball, or Medicine ball or basketball/volleyball
• Foam roller or 4-inch PVC pipe
• FP massage cane or Theracane
• Mace bell or Broomstick handle
• Dumbbells
• Resistance Band and handle

This program was planned so that it can be completed from the comfort of your own home. Many of the tools can be substituted with other tools around the house. Feel free to get creative. You can also join our Facebook group, Functional Patterns Doers to see how others have gone about it.

I am older, and out of shape, is this really for me?

The simple answer is that FP is for you if you are human. We focus on getting you to optimize the precision of the First Four movement patterns, i.e., standing, walking, running, and throwing. No matter who you are or your age or fitness level, you will be doing these things as long as you are alive. So, doesn’t it make sense to learn how to do them well to avoid injuries and live a life free of pain? The 10-week program is precisely the program that teaches you how to do this in easy, bite-size pieces.

How much time do I need to allocate to this course?

You live a busy life and need a training system that can work around your schedule. The 10-week program was designed so that you can make the most of your training time. For the best results, we recommend dedicating 45 minutes to training sessions and aiming to train 3-5 times per week.

Can this help me recover from an injury?
